Voyagers

Welcome to Voyagers Class!   Voyagers is the top class of the school, and for Year 6, this is the last year of primary school and we want it to be their best year! The children are expected to work hard and staff ensure that the curriculum is engaging and tailored to individual learning styles. The teachers in Voyagers Class are Mrs Sole and Mrs Dean-Hughes, and we are supported by our teaching assistant, Ms Bloor.

Our curriculum is broad and varied and we cover lots of our subjects creatively. We make sure that we are prepared for our National Curriculum Tests in Year 6 and are ready for secondary school.

We love reading, exploring books and using different stimuli to write creatively.  We continue to enjoy reading at home for pleasure. As well as reading, there is an expectation that we will learn spellings, practise our multiplication tables and complete a piece of English/Maths homework each week to help embed the learning.

Being the oldest children in the school, we are increasingly responsible for ourselves, our learning and our possessions, including reading books, equipment and homework. We also have more responsibilities around the school, such as: taking part in assemblies; showing visitors around the school; helping to organise whole school events and more. Voyagers Class are wonderful role models for the younger years at East Meon Primary School.

Here is our curriculum overview for the current year 2024-2025 so you can see what we will be learning about.
