Holly

Welcome to Holly Class

Holly Class is a class of  year 3 and 4 children. Our teacher is Mrs Hollingsworth.

Holly Class enjoyed a special literacy lesson this morning as we started a unit of work based on Where The Wild Things Are.  The whole school project started with a special 'Wild Rumpus' during assembly.  We then followed on with some group work, which saw the children using pre-modifying adjectives to describe the scene.  They were using the power of 3 in their sentences to add extra detail.  We will be following on with this tomorrow as we create a zone of relevance with powerful vocabulary.

Holly Class Digital Magna Carta

Holly Class have been talking about how we need to keep safe when using the Internet as it is Internet Safety Week.  We have all created our own rules which we feel that everybody should follow when using the Internet. To celebrate 800 years of the Magna Carta and the 25th anniversary of the World Wide Web we thought that we would help to create a new Digital Magna Carta.  The afternoon led to a great deal of discussion and debate with regards to making sure that everybody feels safe and happy when online.

Holly Class have had a great first week back to school after the summer break.  We have started our new topic and the children are looking forward to learning about life in Victorian Britain.  We will be having a trip to Manor Farm during this half term, which will give the children a real insight into what life was like for a child in Victorian times.
