Welcome to East Meon Church of England Primary School — a joyful, nurturing village school set in the heart of the beautiful South Downs National Park. Our stunning surroundings are far more than a backdrop; they are an extension of our classrooms. The fields, woodland and rolling hills around us provide daily opportunities for exploration, reflection and hands-on learning, enriching every child’s experience of school life.
As a Church of England school, a strong Christian ethos underpins everything we do. Daily life is shaped by our core values of Love, Courage and Hope, which guide how we learn, how we treat one another and how we grow as a community. Collective Worship is a treasured part of our school day. It is a time for children to pause, reflect, ask questions and explore stories that help them understand themselves and the world around them. We are also closely aligned with our local church, All Saints’ and this strengthens the spiritual life of the school and deepens our connection with the village community.
East Meon is proud to offer an Enhanced Provision model in our Year 1/2 class, supporting children as they transition from the Early Years into more formal learning. This approach bridges the gap between Reception and Year 1, ensuring that children continue to learn through play, exploration and purposeful interaction while gradually building the skills needed for the next stage of their education. As children move into Key Stage 2, they experience a broad and balanced curriculum that celebrates creativity, critical thinking and cultural understanding. The arts, music and humanities play a vibrant role in school life, giving pupils rich opportunities to express themselves, explore the wider world and develop a deep appreciation of history, geography and the creative disciplines. The school also offers 1:1 music tuition, including clarinet, guitar and trumpet, enabling children to discover and nurture their musical talents with specialist support.
Our Forest School provision plays a central role in learning. Through outdoor adventures, problem-solving and teamwork, children develop confidence, resilience and a strong connection with the natural world. The outdoors is a place where curiosity thrives and where our values are lived out in meaningful, memorable ways.
A much‑loved feature of our school is The Lodge, which serves as the base for our wraparound care. It is also home to our school library, filled with an eclectic collection of books that inspire reading for pleasure, curiosity and imagination. The Lodge provides a calm, inviting environment where children can relax, explore stories and feel part of a caring community. We are also proud of our spacious sports pitch, a versatile MUGA (Multi‑Use Games Area), a well-loved mud kitchen, and an exciting adventure playground that encourages active play. These spaces support physical development, creativity and collaboration, helping children flourish both inside and outside the classroom.
East Meon is a place where every child is known, valued and encouraged to shine. With a strong sense of community, a commitment to high-quality learning and a setting that inspires wonder every day, the school offers a truly special start to a child’s educational journey.
Prospective families are warmly invited to visit and experience the spirit of East Meon for themselves. The school community looks forward to welcoming you.
It is a privilege to serve the children and families of the East Meon Church of England Primary School community.
