We are a small village school with a warm, caring and inclusive ethos. Our aim is to ‘Create a School for the Whole Community’
We aim to prepare all our children for an ever-changing technological world and with this in mind we integrate ICT into lessons where possible. We are fortunate to have touch screen interactive whiteboards in our classrooms to enhance learning and activities. Alongside these we have laptops, Ipads and Ipad minis, which children use regularly as part of their learning. Our children develop their computing skills writing algorithms and debugging programs using equipment such as Beebots and Lego Wedo. While exploring technology on a range of devices we teach all our children about how to stay safe online through our E-safety work.
A strength of our school is the wide range of extra curricular activities that we offer. These include: art, sewing, dance, homework, outdoor adventures, gardening, creative writing, yoga, football, athletics, netball, tag rugby, tennis, hockey, Eco team and school council.
We believe that first hand experiences engage and excite children about their learning and we aim to enhance activities in the classroom with visits off site and with visitors coming into school. These opportunities have included visits to Kew Gardens, Manor Farm, Highclere Castle, Gosport Submarine Museum, Runways End residential centre, Marwell Zoo, Titchfield Haven, visits from the fire service and Winchester Science Centre.
